Roman catholic priests are showing their true colors these days. Long suspected of messing around with parishioners and church members, they are now revealed in newspapers, online magazines and through various investigations by the Boston Globe. Not all priests care about spiritual matters any way! They use them as a cover to get to temporary, fleshly matters. Many of them care about carnal ones to say the least. If this was not the case, how can one explain the attack suffered by a Las Vegas soloist from the hands of the Rev. George Chaanine, 52, who ran away from the parish afterwards? How can a catholic church member reconcile his breaking a full bottle of wine over a woman's head, then grabbing her hair and dragging her down a hall toward his office where he violated her body?
This priest who is a native of Lebanon can not say he was hunting wild animals. He can not consider the soloist as a wilde game in the plains of Africa. On that continent, he would have made a kill. There he was dragging his victim to his office where he set out to violate and rape her. Like a caveman, he was displaying his animalistic instinct. How horrible a crime committed by a man of the cloth? This is just a drop in the series of sexual allegations and crimes committed by priests, pastors, ministers and spiritual leaders these days. Priests are known to have been sleeping around with all kinds of women for years. Many of them have children whom they never claim. The truth is finally coming out. There are sick priests who are hiding their sins and innocence behind their long robes. Priest Chaanine went into hiding.
Priest Chaanine also worked in Detroit; Youngstown, Ohio; El Paso, Texas; and Wheeling, W.Va before he was assigned to Our Lady of Las Vegas. The poor woman was sitting at her desk when the highly sexually frustrated criminal priest tiptoed behind her and hit her over the head just like a savage would do. The victim put up a fight in the priest's chambers. But she was overpowered by the well-paid, well-fed priest who knocked her unconscious. That's when he started to molest the poor soloist. He started groping her breasts and genitals. She woke up and continued to fight the assailant who quickly straddled her and grabbed her throat. What else could she do?
When the poor victim's reactions and tactics failed, she resorted to the power of prayer. Blessed be thy name, oh Lord! She started praying to God. That's when the priest let go of her prey. She remembered to pray to God in the midst of the battle for her life. The demons on the priest were being chased away. The attacker/priest released his prey. That's when he talked. "I am going to kill myself," he muttered in an effort to have his victim pity his deliberate attack. "Wait 15 minutes. I will call an ambulance." The priest only gave himself enough time to escape the parish.
For days, the priest was a fugitive from justice. Authorities caught up with him in Apache-Junction, about 30 miles east of Phoenix. He is a new version of the late Boston priest Kegan.... How many others will be caught by abusing their spiritual authorities? Third-world priests are even worst. They can buy their way out of jail. They usually influence local authorities and work in cohort with them.
