Medical Tourists Flock to Indian Private Hospitals for Top notch surgeries

Americans, Europeans and rich patients from other countries who want top-notch medical care on their own terms have recently found top Britain and US-educated Indian doctors. In fact, they are willing to fly all over the world to avoid the high costs of local medicine. If something is not done to address these galloping costs, India may have to treat most Europeans and Americans in the next few decades. Indian doctors who used to come to the States or Britain to practice won't have to go anywhere anymore. So far, they have been able to gain lots of experience in western hospitals. Once they decide to go back home to practice, they take all this experience with them. Now that they have charmed patients all over the world, these patients are willing to go to them. The words are already out. Indian doctors are good. According to a recent 60 Minutes report, India is not the only destination. Thailand and Singapore have also invested in top-notch hospitals catering to the needs and whims of value-seeking US and European patients.

So far, those who are seeking to have orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, infertility treatment and cardiology can head to India to find treatment. They are asking questions and making economic decisions. Most patients already know this for a fact. In most US, Australian, and British hospitals, you will find names of Indian doctors serving in various capacities. Fleeing high cost treatment in their native countries, patients are outsourcing to India, Singapore and Thailand. They get lots of satisfaction for a fraction of the cost. Furthermore, consumers can get treatment that is not allowed back home. Constructions of hospitals, specialized clinics in Bombay or Mumbay, Delhi and Bangalore add to the urgency of the needs. The new term of "medical tourists" comes to explain this flow of special tourists. It was not uncommon to see people from South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, the Middle East wanting western medicine. Now, the reverse is true. Westerners are flocking to the corridors of Indian healthcare centers to meet with Indian healthcare providers.

Based on the reports and word-of-mouth diffusion, these specialists have treated some happy patients who, in turn, go as far as taking it upon themselves to share their experiences with those who are still hesitant. In fact, many westerners hold certain views and attitude about the level of cleanliness they hope to encounter in India. Those who are against seeing patients jump on a cheap flight to India talk about hygiene and other cleanliness issues. They don't discuss the level of professionalism and education of the doctors. How could they put down a specialist who has surpassed them in many areas while working in their country? The naysayers are trying to scare potential patients, but they can not do anything as far as slashing the high costs of treatment in their home country. For what would be a pittance in the States or Europe, many patients can afford topnotch treatment from the best specialists in the field in some great Indian establishments. In addition, their lodging is also part of the whole deal. There are groups of individuals and companies whose mission is to find and make arrangements for potential patients willing to travel to India.
